Cincinnati Bridge Association board of trustees (Directors}
Minutes of Regular scheduled Meeting October 9, 2012
board President A. Stephanie called the meeting to order
at 5:00 p.m. Present were Patrick
Hoffman, Potter Orr, Mike Purcell, Barb Levinson, Gayle Keaney, Susan Wisner, Ron
manne, Gerry Mirus, and Sonya Wilson.
September minutes were reviewed and approved.
Status of the three on-going committees is as follows:
Leased space and Building- No status change.
membership- Nothing new,
Sanction Holders- They were notified of the dates of the
Holiday STAC 12/26/12 through 1/1/2013.
Parking Lot – After a discussion regarding the cost as
well as a need for the additional spaces - a motion was made by Potter. The
motion was to approach Viox on a reduction in the rent for a reasonable amount
of spaces (minimum of 10) to $100.00 per month and this would be considered
approved by the board. Seconded by Ron Manne and motion passed 7 to 2.
Holiday party- Club Holiday Party will be held on
December 5, 2012. Diane Thaller and Melanie Onnen are in charge of this affair.
After discussion a motion was made by
Patrick Hoffman and seconded by potter Orr to charge $20.00 per person for
dinner and bridge and alcohol will be sold separately. Motioned passed 8 to 1.
President’s Report
Utility Bills- AJ reported that Jerry Katz recommended
that we shut off gas service in warm months and save the gas delivery charge.
There is no few for reconnecting gas service.
There was some confusion about the Match Game recently
held at the clubs. Did not have the books and did not use of the travelers.
A.j. Stephanie made a motion for the CBA to run this game next year. It was
seconded by Gayle Keaney. It was approved.
Election- CBA Board election will be held the weekend of
the Sectional with early voting the week before. There are 4 candidates seeking
election to the board.
Library Funds- Gayle Keaney made a motion to authorize
$275.00 new library books. It was seconded by potter Orr and was approved.
Compensation Table- A.J. Stephanie made a motion that the
fee for CBA owned games be as follows $100.00 per session plus $5.00 for every table
over 10. it was seconded by Ron Manne and was approved.
Education Committee- It was reported that Kay Mulford
donated her fee for Learn” Bridge In A Day” to the CBA. The board wishes to
thank Kay for this generous contribution.
Tournament Committee-The Holiday STAC will be 12/26/12
through 1/1/13. There will not be any 3 session days.
the Middletown Sectional’s viability is in question at
this time.
The October Sectional and District NAP are ready for the
last weekend in October.
