Flying Pig Regional

Cincinnati, Ohio

Sharonville Convention Center

Monday, April 25 – Sunday, May 1, 2005

Director in Charge:  Henry Cukoff

The Cincinnati Bridge Association has been looking forward to your arrival at the Flying Pig Regional.  We sincerely hope you enjoy the bridge and the hospitality we have arranged for this week.  Along with the Convention Center staff and many members of Unit 124 who are new to this business of planning a Regional, we hope our efforts will provide you with an enjoyable experience in Cincinnati.

We would like to present the following suggestions and regulations so that each and every participant will have a happy and comfortable time.

1 - This is a non-smoking facility. All smokers must go outside – please use the ashtrays and leave only during the announced breaks.

2 - The Convention Center does not allow anyone to bring in any food or beverages.  We have a concession stand with an updated menu that we request that you use.  (The food is very good.)  There are also pop machines downstairs.  Please, no drinks carried in purses, bags, or coolers.

3 - We would appreciate any help you could give the committee by disposing of your own trash and papers.

4 – You must deactivate your cell phone.  Calls are absolutely not allowed – either in or out.  If you are expecting an “emergency” call, please leave your phone with a director.

5 – To ensure everyone leaves Cincinnati with a smile on their face, we practice Zero Tolerance.  Let’s not talk about anyone’s mistakes, be ready to move when a round is called, and be kind and friendly to all of your partners and opponents.  We would really like the “Flying Pig Regional” to be known as the “Friendly Flying Pig Regional!”

Finally, all members of the Cincinnati Bridge Association Board of Directors and volunteer workers are wearing name tags for your convenience.  Please contact one of us if you have a problem.  Hopefully, we will be able to help you.

Good Luck and Have a Good Time!

Partnership Desk - If you need a partner, the Partnership Desk will be open 45 minutes before each afternoon game (12:45 PM) and each evening game (6:45 PM) or you may call the Partnership Desk Chair, Lorna Davis, at 513-777-1760 or email her at nons@cinci.rr.com.  Your message should include your name, phone number and/or email address, the game you want to play in, the number of master points you have, and the bidding systems you prefer (i.e. Goren, SAYC, 2/1, Precision).  If you request a partner, it is expected that you will be there to play.  It is not acceptable to request a partner and then opt out or find another partner without advising the Partnership Desk.

Daily Bulletin - Are you a new Life Master?  Have an interesting story or hand?  Contact the Bulletin Editor, Carolyn Ahlert, via email (cahlert@earthlink.net), or phone her at the Living Suites, 513-772-7877, anytime until midnight each evening.
