Potter Orr Shared the following tribute and remembrance of Judy:

The passing of Judy Ruehl is a real loss to bridge in Cincinnati. She played a lot both online and face-to-face and played with players at many levels.

Judy was a good player and even more important a very good partner. She continued to play online with my wife even when the brain fog from chemotherapy must’ve made the games a challenge.

Judy and I started playing almost exclusively online and I learned a lot from playing with her.  Not only did she add a few conventions to my card but it was a real education to watch her play the cards online. As dummy I could see both her hand and mine and it was fascinating to watch her declare play. I sometimes wondered why she seemed to do things out of order but then I realized it was intended to mislead the defenders, usually quite successfully.

As any of you know who played with her face-to-face, Judy had some real challenges with mobility and wore braces on her legs and used walking sticks. In spite of those problems, she never insisted on a north-south seating and found a way around the room.

I had the privilege of playing with Judy at the NABC in Louisville and also at the recent regional. Just a month ago she went to the NABC in St. Louis. Bridge right to the end would suit Judy.
